This Christmas Eve 1959 scene shows four Frisco Geeps northbound with what a appears to be a coal train in Ft. Smith approaching the N. 32nd Street crossing where the tracks begin paralleling Midland Blvd.

Frisco GP7 #585 leads the south local out of north yard in this scene fro 2/62. The photo was taken from the front platform of a VO1000. Note the kerosene lanterns on the switch stands. In those days a man on a velocipede made the rounds each day filling the lanterns . Also note in the distance the furniture factories west of the yards and the yard office to the right just before the crossing.

Frisco GP7 #616 switches train #731 in Van Buren on this snowy 12/23/63. Passenger service was still a part of the picture on the Frisco as evidenced by the yellow baggage cart in the right side of this scene.

SLSF GP7 #535 leads the north local out of Van Buren, 3/31/64. This scene is no longer possible because of the over growth of vegetation.

SLSF GP7 #614 leads the south local past the approach semiphore for the tunnel south of Bonanza, AR, 12/28/64.
