Notes:
* In 1968 renumbered its remaining EMD F-units and some of the rebuilt ALCO-GE FB-1 units.
** Selected units were rebuilt with EMD powerplants.
*** E-Units were named after famous horses.

  1. Originally Alabama, Tennessee & Northern
  2. Originally Okmulgee Northern
  3. RS1s could MU only with other RS1s. Sublettered AT&N on cab under number.
  4. H12-44s could MU only with other H12-44s
  5. Originally Denver & Rio Grande Western
  6. 292 was rebuilt into a cabless unit by Springfield Shops, equipped with MU and used with a SW9 in Memphis
  7. Originally North East Oklahoma
  8. All GP38s, GP38-2s, GP40-2s, B30-7s, and SD40-2s were equipped with Pyle gyrolites. The last order of SD45s and the two orders of U30Bs were similarly equipped.
  9. The first order of GP35s had fuel tank that required that the air reservoirs be placed on the roof of the locomotive.
  10. Built as high hood; 804 was the first U25B built (GE 753); 804-807 demonstrators (GE 753-756).
  11. SLSF 812 (GE 51) was the first low hood U25B built.
  12. The first new units delivered in Mandarin orange and white.
  13. SLSF 831 was the last U25B built.
  14. SLSF 846 was the 2500th "U-series" unit built. It carried the "XR" designation in blakc under the cab.
  15. SLSF 863 was the first "-7" series unit built.
  16. 2000 & 2003 - delivered as power for Texas Special.
  17. 2001, 2002, 2004, & 2005 - delivered as power for Meteor.
  18. Rebuilt after arrival of E8As to resemble them.
  19. The EA7s and E8As were delivered with Mars lights. Several F3s, F7s, F9s, FA1s, and all FP7s were retrofitted with Mars lights. These included 5008, 5021, 5027, 5200, 5201, 5203, 5204, 5207, 5217, 5218, and 5220. Where so equipped, the Mars signal light was in the normal nose housing and the headlight was located in the nose door. On E-units, there was a red emergency brake signal light in addition to the normal white oscillating light. A tleast one GP7 was equipped with a Mars light.
  20. Click here for a listing of the names of Frisco E-units.

MU - units equipped with multiple unit control
DB - units equipped with dynamic brakes
SG - units equipped with steam generators. The EA7s were equipped with a single 3000 lbs/hour generator. The E8As were equipped with two 2500 lbs/hour generators. The FP7s and GP7s so equipped had single 2500 lbs/hour generators. Many of the GP7s had the steam generator removed and replaced with concrete blocks for ballast.

Oddities:
a. Some GP38-2s rode on Blomberg Type B trucks from trade-ins. Among those are: 418, 419, 422, 424, 425, 463,-466, 468, 469, 471-473, 476-478, 664, 666, 669, 671-673, 677, 692-695, and 698-699.
b. GP7s 546, 547, and 564 were lettered Quanah Acme & Pacific on the long hood with SL-SF lettering under the number on the cab.
b. Road switchers GP38 #651 and SD45s 911, 912, and 915 carried a coonskin hearld on the nose. GP38 651 was destroyed soon after application, making photos of it rare.
c. GP35s 726-731 rode on AAR Type B trucks from ALCO trade-ins.
