Terminal Rail Road Assoication of St. Louis

SW9s

by Mike Condren

This SW9 is working the freight yard opposite Union Station. The shot was taken from the 21st St. bridge over the tracks on May 1, 1966.

This SW9 was also working the same yard. The photo was taken from the 21st St. bridge with the 18th St. bridge in the background on May 1, 1966.

This SW9 was over taken by the "Alton Limited" on my ride back from Notre Dame on April 21, 1963. I was riding the parlor car and shot this out the rear door of the parlor car.

These shots were taken on Nov. 10, 1971 at what once was the East St. Louis, IL passenger station. The second shot shows the train appearing to pass through the Gateway Arch as it heads up the ramp to Eads Bridge over the Mississippi Rover.

Another switcher is seen in the hump yard at Madison, IL on May 1, 1965.
